Janet R. Moon Williamson
September 28, 1934 – November 19, 2020
Janet (Jan) Moon Williamson, 86, of Rochester, Indiana, died peacefully in her home on November 19, 2020.  
Jan was born in Westfield, PA, on September 28, 1934 to James and Pearl (Hill) Douglass.  Jan attended both Marion College and
the University of Wisconsin, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in English.  Jan retired after 30 years of teaching English at
Culver High School.  In February 1988, Jan married George Williamson and they made their home in Rochester.
Jan was a beautiful musician, playing the organ and piano at both Wesley United Methodist Church, Culver, and Trinity United
Methodist Church, Rochester for many years.  Jan was involved in the Maxinkuckee Players & Singers for many years, acting as
Director for many of their productions.  Jan was very proud of her time spent with the group and treated many as her extended family.
Jan is survived by her husband, George Williamson, stepson, Marc Williamson (Linda), Rochester, stepdaughter, Diane Smith
(Steven), Clawson, MI, grandsons, Matthew Williamson, Rochester and Bruce Smith, Clawson, MI; granddaughters, Alexandra
Williamson, Muncie, IN, Marie and Anna Smith, Clawson, MI.  Jan was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her stepson,
Bruce Williamson.
A time of visitation with the family will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on November 25, 2020 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM
EST.  Chaplain Tim Lee will officiate the service honoring Jan’s life at 11:30 AM EST.  In accordance with the governor’s mandate,
MASKS ARE REQUIRED and only 50 people are allowed at the service.  Services will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.  
Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, Logansport, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jan’s memory to the Mxinkuckee Players.
