Minnie E. Campbell, 94, of Culver, passed away on September 28, 2017 at Signature Health Care in South
Minnie was born to Lawrence and Bertha (Calhoun) Vermillion in Culver, Indiana on October 10, 1922. She was
a graduate of Culver High School. Minnie met the love of her life on a blind date and was married to John J.
Campbell on June 30, 1956 in Darlington, Indiana, and together they raised 2 children. Minnie was a
homemaker and during WWII, she worked at the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant.
Minnie liked to fish with John. She also enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, and spending time with her
grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Cubs and the Bulls.
Minnie is survived by her son Carl (Susan) Campbell of Three Rivers, Michigan; daughter Karen (Richard)
Campbell McCarty; grandchildren – Katy (Tim) Dowd of Culver, Dorothy Batta of Culver, Justin McCarty of
Bremen, and Dustin McCarty of Rochester; step grandchildren Evelyn (Jason) Dell and Richard McCarty Jr. of
Rochester; and great grandchildren - DJ McCarty of Rochester, Kaylea McCarty of Rochester, Makayla Batta of
Culver, Parker and Damien Keeling of Culver, Brody and Kyndra Stone of Rochester and Jaslyn Dell of
Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Alfred, Clyde, Hervey, and Clifford
Vermillion; and sister Rosezella Harness; and great grandson Jacob Ehlinger.
A time of gathering with the family will be held at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver, on Sunday, October 1, 2017
from 4:00 – 6:00 PM EST. Rev. Pat Allen will officiate funeral services on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the
Delong Gospel Lighthouse Church at 2:00 PM EST. Burial will follow at Leiters Ford IOOF Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Delong Gospel Lighthouse.
